Meet Our Pastor--Bro. Mark Williams

IMG_0900I  was born in Gothenburg Nebraska on June 22, 1983; the second child to Jim and Stacy Williams.  In 2001, at the age of 18, while at summer church camp, I came into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  I was baptized by the authority of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Livermore, California, the very same week.  That same year I gradated High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  My MOS, Military Occupational Specialty, was a tank crewman on the M1A1 main battle tank.  In 2003 I was deployed with First Marine Division to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  I was deployed for the second time in 2004 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to the area of An-bar Provence, Iraq.

It was during this time the Lord begun to lay a burden on my heart to preach the Gospel.  After much prayer on August 24, 2003 I answered the call and surrendered to the Gospel ministry.  I was then licensed by the First Missionary Baptist Church of Redlands, California.  While attending the First Missionary Baptist Church in Redlands I met my wife, Amanda Turpin.  On January 21, 2006 I was honorably discharged from active duty and on February 11, 2006 Amanda and I were married.

We continued to serve God in Redlands until I accepted the call to Pastor the First Missionary Baptist Church of Manteca on February 14, 2007.  Since that time the Lord has richly blessed both my personal life and the church.  We have seen much growth within our own selves as we seek and study what the Lord’s will is for our Lives.
